Car Accident Injury Treatment

As medical doctors, we know that even a minor soft tissue injury is enough to knock you off your feet. And following a car accident, many people struggle to get back on their full range of motion. At Immediately after an car accident, it’s common for people to wait to get treatment. Most people think, “I’ll just wait to see how I feel next week.” This approach can be a mistake. Our Chiropractic Doctors are dedicated to helping Car Accident Injury victims with their recovery.

Even a minor accident can cause long term damage to your body. One of the most common injuries from a motor vehicle accident is whiplash and it can be treated by a chiropractor. Whiplash injuries can be accompanied by a headache and/ or shoulder pain. Many people may not experience any pain immediately after the car crash. Others, however, will have instant headache, neck pain, upper and lower back pain as well as other symptoms.

During a car crash, the tissues of your body can be stretched or torn. You may not feel pain right away but as the tissues become swollen and inflamed, patients often wake up the next day with a sore, stiff neck or back. Your body will then restrict movement and begin repairing the injured area by laying down scar tissue and adhesions. This tissue is less flexible and if not treated correctly will lead to restricted range of motion and premature bone spurs.

The problem with scar tissue is that each joint in your neck has a fairly limited range of motion. Scar tissue reduces that motion even more, and if you don’t receive proper treatment, that can result in permanent limited mobility, chronic pain, and even spinal degeneration of the joints. Mobilization, manipulation, and chiropractic adjustments can help minimize these adhesions and slow the advancement of degenerative changes.

When your pain doesn’t respond to conservative measures you may need to consider surgical options. Our Doctors are experts at performing complex, cervical, and minimally invasive spinal surgeries that alleviate pain and restore function for a variety of spinal conditions. They treat most spinal conditions that need surgery with minimally invasive approaches.

Some procedures they perform using minimally invasive spine surgery include:

  • Spinal decompression: removing bone and soft tissue that are narrowing your spinal canal
  • Discectomy: trimming or removing a herniated disc
  • Spinal fusion: replacing the diseased disc with a bone graft

The minimally invasive approach is typically better at controlling pain in the long term.

Traumatic brain injury (TBI) is sudden damage to the brain caused by a blow or jolt to the head. Common causes include car or motorcycle crashes, falls, sports injuries, and assaults. Injuries can range from mild concussions to severe permanent brain damage. While treatment for mild TBI may include rest and medication, severe TBI may require intensive care and life-saving surgery. Most people who suffer moderate to severe TBI will need rehabilitation to recover and relearn skills. Those who survive a brain injury can face lasting effects on their physical and mental abilities, emotions, and personality.

Our physicians provide the most highly skilled surgical care to patients suffering from neuro trauma. We collaborate with trauma surgeons, neurologists, and neuro intensivists, who work one-on-one with patients and families. And we work closely with dedicated nurses trained to help you understand your loved one’s condition and gain access to available resources.

Interventional pain management involves highly specialized procedures that treat and manage pain. Patients who suffer from chronic back and neck issues, post-traumatic pain syndrome,  and post surgical pain can benefit from interventional pain management. Managing pain is a method of care that pulls from science doctrines to understand the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of pain. Pain management is utilized for inflammatory spine and musculoskeletal disorders as a progressive nonsurgical program that encourages the identification of neck and back pain and restores the patient as a surrogate for surgery.

Our physicians employ cervical or lumbar radio frequency ablations, selective nerve root blocks, interlaminar or transforaminal epidural steroid injections, medial branch blocks, and other non operative analgesic methods.

We provide advanced spinal correction and chiropractic adjustments utilizing state-of-the-art chiropractic techniques for back pain, neck pain, headaches, and other spine related conditions. Our chiropractors are specialized health care professionals intent on the diagnosis and treatment of neuromuscular disorders, with an emphasis on treatments through adjustments and/or manipulation of the spine. Chiropractic treatments can renew the integrity of the spine, lessen pressure on sensitive neurologic structures, and result in the improvement of one’s overall health.

Our chiropractors make every effort to lessen pain and improve the quality of life for our patients as well as educating them on how they can take control of their health through exercise, ergonomics and various other therapies to treat back and neck pain.

Regenerative medicine is a scientific and medical discipline which focuses on reining the power of stem cells and the regenerative capacity of the body in order to restore the functioning of damaged cells, tissues and organs. The goal of regenerative medicine is to find the path to cure previously untreated injuries and diseases. Years of research have revealed a revolutionary new treatment approach that significantly enhances your body’s ability to heal itself naturally, known as regenerative stem cell therapy.

Our physicians use regenerative medicine treatments to help their patients address their pain and limited mobility caused by joint-related injuries in the knee, hip, and shoulder and spine.
